IML scientific study of gynaecomastia
The journal of the Brazilian College of Surgeons (Colégio Brasileiro de Cirurgioes) has published "Laser lipolysis and liposuction in gynaecomastia: safe and effective skin retraction", a scientific study of gynaecomastia treatment with laser-assisted lipolysis.
This multicentre study was developed by IML in collaboration with Inserm (Lille, France), IM Villafortuny and the Antoni de Gimbernat Foundation, and it described the advantages of laser-assisted lipolysis for gynaecomastia treatment.
Gynaecomastia is the feminization of male breasts. It has been calculated that between 32 and 65% males suffer from gynaecomastia at some stage in their lives.
Laser-assisted lipolysis an effective technique, simple to perform and minimally traumatic in treating gynaecomastia. It is performed under local anaesthesia and allows the patient to quickly resume daily activities.
